New Delhi, August 12, 2026: Honeywell Technologies has announced plans to equip more than 3 lakh students across India with skills in artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, sustainability and other advanced technologies by 2030 under its flagship Saksham initiative.
The company said the initiative will be implemented in partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, BharatCares, Ladli Foundation and the Foundation of Science, Innovation and Development (FSID-IISc), with programmes spanning skilling, school transformation, applied research and startup incubation.
Honeywell Technologies said it has reached more than 13 lakh beneficiaries over the past decade through its education and community initiatives. The new commitment comes as demand for technology and sustainability-related skills continues to grow across industries.
According to the India Skills Report 2026, cited by Honeywell Technologies, overall employability has risen to 56.35%, while demand for skills in areas including AI, data, cloud and cybersecurity continues to exceed talent supply.

Key programmes under Saksham
The IIT Bombay–Honeywell Technologies Centre of Excellence for Future Skills & Innovation will reach more than 1 lakh undergraduate students through a network of colleges. Its courses will cover Sustainability Reporting, Sustainable Finance, Energy Security, Sustainability Infrastructure and Policy Advocacy. The centre will also support applied research, research fellows and startup incubation.
Under Honeywell Technologies Future Skills Edge, the company aims to train 2 lakh students in AI and cybersecurity through hybrid, project-based learning. Four Centres of Excellence will support the programme across government institutions in Maharashtra, Haryana, Karnataka and Telangana. Implemented with BharatCares, the programme targets 50% women participation.
The Honeywell Technologies Saksham School Transformation Program, being implemented with Ladli Foundation, will cover 12 government and government-aided girls’ schools across Maharashtra, Delhi, Haryana and Karnataka. It is expected to benefit more than 12,000 students through smart classrooms, digital skills training, health and hygiene awareness, leadership development, teacher training and community engagement.
Honeywell Technologies is also continuing its partnership with FSID-IISc, which began in 2018. By 2030, the collaboration is expected to support nearly 75 early-stage deep-science startups and Entrepreneurs-in-Residence working in areas such as AI, renewable energy, sustainability, cybersecurity and digitisation. Support will include seed funding, mentorship and access to R&D infrastructure.
Under the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme, Honeywell Technologies engages more than 50 underprivileged interns each year, providing graduating students with industry exposure, mentorship and workplace experience.
The Saksham initiative is implemented through Hometown Solutions India Foundation (HHSIF), Honeywell Technologies’ philanthropic arm in India. The programme focuses on expanding access to STEM education, supporting inclusive growth and developing talent aligned with emerging industry requirements.
