Udaipur, December 23, 2025: Hindustan Zinc Limited (NSE: HINDZINC), the world’s largest integrated zinc producer, has reported significant outcomes from its flagship agri-livelihood initiative, Samadhan, under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme. Since its inception, the initiative has supported nearly 1.4 lakh farmers across Rajasthan and generated over ₹192 crore in diversified farm income in the past year alone.
The Samadhan programme focuses on transforming subsistence farming into sustainable and market-linked agri-entrepreneurship. Through interventions such as scientific crop practices, precision irrigation, crop diversification, dairy development, livestock asset creation, microenterprise promotion, and institution building, the initiative has enabled measurable economic gains for participating farmers.
During the year, the programme facilitated the creation of livestock assets worth over ₹90 crore and supported the production of more than 280 lakh litres of milk, valued at over ₹88 crore. Five Individual Farmer Producer Organisations (iFPOs) generated revenues exceeding ₹13 crore, while farmer-led microenterprises, including dairy-based FMCG products and mineral mixture production units, contributed nearly ₹7 crore. In total, 510 Farmer Interest Groups and five iFPOs with more than 9,300 farmer-shareholders were supported to strengthen aggregation, market access, and long-term sustainability.
The initiative has also promoted climate-smart agriculture across 2,449 hectares through practices such as precision irrigation, hi-tech vegetable cultivation, raised-bed nurseries, scientific dairy management, medicinal crops, WADI, and bio-fortified crops, including zinc- and iron-enriched wheat. These interventions have resulted in improved productivity, enhanced nutrition outcomes, and greater income stability.
Samadhan has played a key role in reducing livelihood risks by encouraging income diversification. Farmers adopting vegetable cultivation, improved dairy practices, and scientific pest and water management have reported higher and more stable earnings. Women farmers have also emerged as active participants, taking on leadership roles within Farmer Interest Groups and engaging in dairy and horticulture-based enterprises, contributing to household prosperity and community resilience.
Beyond Samadhan, Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta Group company, continues to implement a long-term, integrated social impact strategy spanning education, healthcare, women’s empowerment, skilling, sustainable livelihoods, sports, and environmental stewardship. Through community-led initiatives such as Nand Ghar, Sakhi, Zinc Kaushal, and Samadhan, the company currently reaches nearly 23 lakh people across more than 2,300 villages. The programme aligns with national development priorities and contributes to inclusive growth, social equity, and grassroots capacity building in support of India’s vision of Viksit Bharat
