Mysuru, January 16, 2026: Herbalife, a global health and wellness company, in association with Shishu Mandir (Bengaluru) and Savio Trust (Mysuru), has launched the Eco-Wheels Women’s Initiative in Mysuru, enabling 75 women to access sustainable livelihoods through electric autos. The initiative also marks the start of the year-long “Green Mysuru, Clean Mysuru” campaign, positioning women as ambassadors of clean mobility, environmental stewardship, and economic independence.

The initiative was inaugurated in the presence of T.S. Srivathsa, MLA, Krishnaraja Constituency, Mysuru, along with Uday Prakash, Vice President – Market Strategy & Implementation, India, and other dignitaries.

Eco-Wheels was first launched in Bengaluru in 2024, where it enabled 115 marginalised women and LGBTQ+ individuals to secure sustainable livelihoods through access to electric autos, structured training, and licensing support. According to programme data, beneficiaries saw their monthly incomes rise from around ₹10,000 to over ₹30,000, positively impacting more than 750 people. Building on this success, the initiative has now been extended to Mysuru.

Under the Mysuru rollout, women from vulnerable backgrounds—including single mothers, widows, survivors of abuse, and transgender individuals—will receive electric autos, driving and safety training, assistance with licensing, vehicle maintenance support, and basic entrepreneurial skills. The programme aims to enable steady income generation, long-term financial independence, and improved social outcomes.

T.S. Srivathsa, MLA, Krishnaraja Constituency, Mysuru, said, “The Eco-Wheels Women’s Initiative is a commendable step toward enabling women to take charge of their futures while contributing to greener, cleaner urban mobility. Mysuru extends its full support to such initiatives that champion equality, inclusion, and social progress.”

Uday Prakash, Vice President – Strategy and Implementation at Herbalife, said, “At Herbalife, we’re deeply inspired by the ECO Wheels Women’s Initiative, which embodies our commitment to sustainable progress and shared prosperity. Following Bengaluru’s remarkable success, this expansion to Mysuru is transforming lives by equipping these women with vital skills and the confidence to thrive. They’re not just driving electric autos; they’re steering their families and communities towards a brighter, greener future.”

Anand C., Director, Shishu Mandir, added, “For over three decades, Shishu Mandir has worked to create dignified, scalable livelihood opportunities for underserved communities. Eco-Wheels has grown from a mobility program into a movement of confidence and self-reliance.”

Vijay, Founder, Savio Trust, said, “Eco-Wheels are a powerful example of how sustainable livelihoods can transform entire communities.”

The Mysuru phase includes localised training in advanced driving skills, digital tools for customer engagement, basic financial literacy, and market linkages. The shift to electric vehicles is expected to reduce carbon emissions equivalent to planting 500 trees annually, supporting Mysuru’s green mobility goals. Over five years, the initiative is projected to generate cumulative incomes of ₹50 crore for women beneficiaries while contributing significantly to cleaner urban transport.
