HDFC Bank Parivartan Skilling and Livelihood Initiatives Reach 9.6 Lakh People

Mumbai, July 14, 2026: Marking World Youth Skills Day 2026, HDFC Bank Parivartan, the CSR initiative of HDFC Bank, announced that its skill development and livelihood programmes have positively impacted 9.6 lakh individuals since inception. The initiatives focus on building employability, promoting entrepreneurship, and strengthening livelihoods across India.

According to the Bank, over 1.96 lakh youth have completed formal skill training through certified programmes delivered in partnership with industry organisations and NSDC-affiliated institutions. The training covers sectors including healthcare, retail, logistics, hospitality, banking, insurance, electric vehicle maintenance, information technology and digital technologies. Participants also receive soft skills, digital literacy, financial literacy and placement support to improve employment prospects.

Beyond youth skilling, HDFC Bank Parivartan has supported 7.6 lakh women and farmers through livelihood and entrepreneurship programmes. These initiatives include training in tailoring, handloom weaving, food processing, poultry farming, dairy management, organic farming and mushroom cultivation, along with mentoring, access to tools, branding, packaging and market linkages to help strengthen income generation.

The Bank's FY2025–26 impact assessment reported a training completion rate of around 85%, while nearly 74% of trainees said they experienced improvements in communication, digital literacy and interview readiness. Placement rates ranged between 44.5% and 45.6% on average, with some projects recording placement rates of 70% to 92%. Employed candidates earned a median monthly income of approximately ₹15,000, representing nearly 1.9 times growth in earning potential after training.

Women accounted for 56% of programme participants, while more than 1,000 youth with disabilities benefited from inclusive skilling initiatives. During FY2025–26, HDFC Bank Parivartan also expanded its network by launching new skill centres and courses across cities including Jaipur, Meerut, Bareilly, Nagpur, Vadodara, Ranchi, Jammu, Bengaluru and Delhi.

Currently, HDFC Bank Parivartan supports more than 150 active projects across all 28 states and 8 Union Territories, covering skill development, livelihood enhancement, education, healthcare, rural development, natural resource management and financial inclusion.
