Mumbai, May 25, 2026: Group Legrand India has inaugurated the Legrand Institute for Training & Education in Thane, marking the company’s first dedicated training centre in Maharashtra.
The institute has been launched as part of the company’s social commitment towards skill development and youth empowerment and is expected to train over 1,000 beneficiaries annually.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Eknath Shinde, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, and Agnès Silva.
Developed in collaboration with SkillSonics, the 8,000 sq. ft. facility has been designed to offer technical training to ITI students, diploma and engineering students, technicians and electricians. According to the company, the programmes will be offered free of cost and will focus on practical learning, industry exposure and employability enhancement.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening industry-ready talent in the electrical and allied technology sectors while supporting India’s growing infrastructure and energy ecosystem. The institute is also part of Group Legrand India’s wider CSR framework focused on education, healthcare, environment, skill development and disaster relief.

The customised curriculum, designed jointly by Legrand’s subject matter experts and SkillSonics’ technical specialists, aims to equip students and electricians with practical skills and industry-ready capabilities aligned to current and future technological needs.”
The company stated that the institute is part of its long-term approach towards inclusive growth through community-focused skilling initiatives.
