Beijing, September 16, 2025: The 2025 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) in Beijing highlighted the growing role of green and intelligent technologies in shaping global trade in services. With the theme “Embrace Intelligent Technologies, Empower Trade in Services,” the event showcased innovations ranging from energy storage and recycling solutions to unmanned cleaning systems and zero-carbon industrial parks.
Nearly 2,000 exhibitors from more than 20 of the world’s top 30 countries and regions in services trade participated in the fair, underscoring the growing international interest in sustainable and technology-driven services.
Beistar CZ, a Czech company making its debut at CIFTIS, presented its energy storage technology that converts surplus grid electricity into thermal energy at a fraction of conventional battery costs. “There are no greater opportunities anywhere in the world than in China,” said George Jermakov, technology director at Beistar CZ. He praised China’s business environment, adding, “There is a great wave in China to go green. Many steps have been taken by the government and the people, and they are moving faster and faster toward their goals.”
Sencity, an Australian company, introduced TestraBin, an interactive waste-sorting bin that rewards correct disposal with digital animations. “In the past, a lot of money was spent on public campaigns to encourage people to sort their waste. This product makes the process interactive and fun,” said Wanchen Zhao, vice president of Sencity.
Chinese companies also presented several innovations. Beijing Environment Sanitation Group displayed an unmanned street-sweeping vehicle capable of cleaning up to 6,000 square meters per hour, while the Beijing Water Science and Technology Institute unveiled an unmanned weed-cutting vessel with a smart system that identifies the best time for aquatic vegetation removal. “For a city of more than 20 million people like Beijing, many of these urban management solutions can be applied to cities elsewhere in the world,” said Chen Nan, a technician at the institute.
Huatong Technology, a Chinese company with two decades of experience in carbon reduction, showcased its zero-carbon industrial park solutions integrating renewable energy, clean transport, and digital monitoring systems. The company has completed more than 10,000 projects across China.
According to official data, China’s services trade reached over 1 trillion U.S. dollars for the first time in 2024 and grew 8.2 percent year-on-year in the first seven months of 2025 to nearly 4.58 trillion yuan (about 644.9 billion U.S. dollars).
Highlighting China’s role in global sustainability efforts, Jeffrey Sachs, chairman of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network, said: “China is at the forefront of major green technologies. It is the low-cost producer of wind, solar, long-distance power transmission and zero carbon power supplies.” He added that China’s global capacity could help accelerate environmental transformation worldwide.
