ETASHA Society Launches DigiSaksham to Promote Online Safety

Gurugram | October 9, 2026: ETASHA Society has launched DigiSaksham, a free online learning platform designed to help students and young people from underserved communities develop digital literacy and online safety skills. Supported by BT Group and British Asian Trust, the initiative aims to help users identify online scams, fake job offers, scholarship fraud, phishing links and misleading information.

The launch was attended by Chief Guest Mr Ian McBride, Head Responsible Business & Social Impact - India, BT Group. The initiative aims to reach 20,000 people by helping them recognise digital risks, protect their personal information and respond appropriately to suspicious online activity.

The platform addresses risks faced by young people who use the internet to search for employment, develop skills, access government services, prepare for competitive examinations and learn through digital platforms. While these services create opportunities, users may also encounter fraudulent messages, unsafe links, payment scams and privacy risks.

DigiSaksham provides practical learning to help users identify warning signs and make informed decisions online. The knowledge gained through the platform can also be shared with family members and communities, extending awareness beyond individual learners.

Dr. Meenakshi Nayar, Founder President, ETASHA Society, said, “DigiSaksham is about making digital opportunities safer for everyone. Parents use phones, women and men go out to work, but the children at home can be the most vulnerable. By educating adolescents, youth and families, we are bridging the gap between digital opportunity and the responsibility to use it safely.”

Mr. Ian McBride, Head Responsible Business & Social Impact - India, BT Group, said, “Online opportunities are enormous, but they come with risks. This launch today is another positive step in ensuring that everyone can participate in the digital world safely, confidently and responsibly. Also, yet another step towards building a safe and a more digital inclusive India. ETASHA as an organisation is consistently focussed on young people getting access to opportunities through education, employability and life skills. It is focused on outcomes rather than activities"

Through DigiSaksham, ETASHA Society aims to strengthen digital awareness among adolescents, young people and families, enabling them to use online services more safely and responsibly.
