New Delhi, September 02, 2025: Eicher Trucks and Buses, a division of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) Limited, organized health check-up camps for truck drivers across more than 20 locations under its Eicher Highway Superheroes Program. The initiative, held in collaboration with Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital (SCEH), reached over 900 drivers in Andhra Pradesh, Delhi NCR, Haryana, Karnataka, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.
The camps provided general health check-ups, eye screenings, and road safety training sessions. The program is part of Eicher’s broader commitment to modernizing trucking in India and supporting drivers, who play a critical role in ensuring road safety and operational efficiency.
Commenting on the initiative, Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO, VECV, said, “Truck and Bus drivers form the backbone of our logistics system. At Eicher, we salute these highway heroes who tirelessly keep our economy running. We believe driver well-being is central to building a safe and sustainable transport ecosystem. Through the Eicher Highway Superheroes Program, we aim to provide Truck and Bus Drivers with access to essential health services, including eye care. This initiative aligns with our commitment to supporting drivers and enhancing road safety in India.”
Launched in 2016, the Eicher Highway Superheroes Program has made eye screening services accessible to truck drivers to promote their health and improve road safety. Currently, Eicher operates 13 mobile eye and ear screening vans and a fixed center in Delhi’s Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar. The program also collaborates with 10 hospital partners, 2,500 transporters, and government transport departments across 11 states. To date, it has benefited over 2.7 lakh drivers across India.
In addition, Eicher has set up the Phoenix-Eicher Institute of Driver Training and Research in Latur, Maharashtra, to enhance professional skills and competencies within the driver community.
