New Delhi, 09 February 2022:`Dr Lal PathLabs Limited, an international service provider of diagnostic and related healthcare tests, has spent as much as Rs 5.74 crore on various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in the financial year 2020-21. The company out of its total CSR budget contributed Rs 1.20 crore to the PM CARES fund in its fight against Covid.
The average net profit of the company for the past three years as per section 135(5) stood at Rs 287.10 crores and thus, its CSR obligation amounted to Rs 5.74 crores. The company managed to spend its complete prescribed CSR budget for the financial year. During the last financial year (2019-20), the company had incurred expenses on CSR activities aggregating to Rs 5.22 crores.
Dr. Lal PathLabs Ltd. conducted its CSR activities through its CSR arm - Lal PathLabs Foundation for the benefit of the society and community in which the company operates. It envisioned building a healthy nation and improving the lives of the community through preventive healthcare initiatives. Under the CSR initiatives, it largely worked in areas such as:
·Vocational education programs in the healthcare delivery for phlebotomists, technicians and other similar vocations
·Promoting access to healthcare including awareness programs for healthier and hygienic living etc.

The annual report of the company stated, “Our CSR programme focuses in the areas of Skill Development of Paramedics (more specifically DMLT and Phlebotomy Technicians), Public Health, with a specific focus on non-communicable disease, rapid response to the pandemics and by creating employment opportunities among the skilled unemployed youths and upskilling the unskilled, especially from the rural and remote areas.”
