Pune, April 09, 2026: Cummins in India has marked the 20th anniversary of its flagship ‘Nurturing Brilliance’ programme by awarding scholarships to 520 students from underserved backgrounds for the 2025–26 academic year. The initiative, implemented through the Cummins India Foundation, supports students pursuing diploma and degree programmes in engineering through financial assistance, mentorship, and career readiness training.
The latest cohort was selected from over 9,600 applications through a rigorous evaluation process. Among the selected scholars are 20 students with disabilities, reflecting the programme’s continued focus on inclusion and equitable access to education.
Since its inception in 2006 with just 13 students in Pune, the programme has expanded into a national initiative, impacting more than 3,100 students to date. Notably, 52% of beneficiaries are female students, highlighting its contribution towards promoting gender diversity in technical education.
The scholarship programme offers comprehensive support, including coverage of tuition fees, academic resources, and structured mentorship from Cummins leaders. It also includes industry exposure and training in soft skills, employability, and career development, enabling students to build sustainable and future-ready careers.
