Carrier India Launches Skill Development Centre at ITI Kubernagar in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, June 02, 2026: Carrier India has launched a new Centre of Excellence for Professional Skill Development at Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Kubernagar, Ahmedabad, as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The programme aims to strengthen industry-relevant skill development in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC) sector.

Implemented by United Way of Delhi, the initiative is designed to address skill gaps by providing students with hands-on training in refrigeration and air conditioning systems. The curriculum combines technical learning with practical exposure to prepare students for employment opportunities in the HVAC industry.

Carrier India, a part of Carrier Global Corporation, said the programme aligns with its efforts to support workforce development and promote innovation in climate and energy solutions.

Sundaresan Narayanan, Managing Director, Climate Solutions India at Carrier Airconditioning & Refrigeration, Carrier India, said, "Expanding our Centres of Excellence to ITI Kubernagar is more than skilling- it's about unlocking economic opportunity. By connecting students to industry-led HVAC training and real career pathways, we're building a workforce that drives employment, fuels sectoral growth, and strengthens the broader economy from the ground up."

The centre was inaugurated in the presence of Shree Kunvarjibhai Bavaliya, Hon'ble Minister for Labour, Skill Development, Employment and Rural Development, Government of Gujarat, and N. V. Desai, Principal, ITI Kubernagar.

As the implementation partner, Dr. Sujeet Ranjan, CEO, United Way Delhi, said, “The launch of the Centre of Excellence at ITI Kubernagar, Ahmedabad marks a significant step in empowering youth through industry-aligned skilling. In partnership with Carrier India, UWD is helping equip young people with practical HVAC skills, industry exposure, and pathways to meaningful employment, while expanding access to quality training across the country.”

According to Carrier India, the initiative forms part of its broader efforts to contribute to India’s skill development agenda while supporting the adoption of sustainable and energy-efficient technologies through a skilled workforce.
