New Delhi, April 15, 2026: Birla Opus Paints, part of the Aditya Birla Group, has reported progress across key sustainability areas in FY 2025–26, including water conservation, circular resource use, clean energy adoption, and packaging innovation.

During the year, the company recycled over 490 lakh litres of water within its operations and harvested more than 810 lakh litres of rainwater across its manufacturing facilities, reducing reliance on freshwater sources. It also implemented wash water reuse systems, enabling the reuse of approximately 96 lakh litres of water in manufacturing processes.

As part of its circularity efforts, the company reused around 58 metric tonnes of wash solvent, contributing to reduced hazardous waste generation and lower dependence on virgin materials.

In line with its decarbonisation strategy, Birla Opus Paints is transitioning from diesel to cleaner fuel alternatives such as PNG, CNG, and LPG across its six manufacturing sites. Its Ludhiana and Panipat plants are currently operating on renewable energy, with plans to scale renewable energy capacity to around 11 MW across five plants by FY 2026–27.

The company has also introduced measures to improve packaging sustainability, including the use of 100% recycled materials in cartons and approximately 30% recycled content in paint pails.

Ajith Kumar, Chief Operating Officer, Birla Opus Paints, said the company is focused on integrating sustainability into its operations as it expands its manufacturing footprint.
