Hyderabad, June 16, 2026: EV mobility platform Bijliride has partnered with the Telangana Police Women Safety Wing and the State Transport Department to support the newly launched ‘Stree Ride’ initiative, aimed at creating employment opportunities for women in the mobility and logistics sectors.

The initiative, inaugurated by Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand, seeks to provide women with access to electric vehicles (EVs), driving and safety training, and onboarding support for passenger ride-hailing and delivery platforms.

Under the partnership, Bijliride will deploy its EV fleet for the first batch of women participants currently undergoing training across Hyderabad’s police commissionerates. The company will also facilitate digital background verification and app integration, enabling participants to join platforms such as Ola, Uber, Rapido, and quick-commerce delivery services through a simplified process.

According to the company, the programme is designed to reduce barriers to entry for women seeking flexible livelihood opportunities in transportation and last-mile delivery. By integrating vehicle access, training, verification, and platform onboarding, the initiative aims to help participants begin earning immediately after completing the training process.

The programme also seeks to provide operational flexibility by allowing women to engage in both passenger transport and delivery services based on demand. Early pilot observations cited by the company indicate that integrating multiple services through a unified platform can reduce downtime and improve productivity for drivers.

Vishal Vikram, Co-Founder, Bijliride, said, “The reality is that India’s riding and delivery workforces have traditionally been heavily male-dominated, and we want to change that narrative from the ground up. Our partnership with the 'Stree Ride' team is about practical empowerment. We are giving women the vehicles, the technology, and the training they need to step onto the roads with confidence. By smoothing out the tech side of ride-hailing and deliveries, we are making it easier for women to earn on their own terms and build a secure financial future."

The collaboration is expected to contribute to greater participation of women in the mobility sector while supporting the adoption of electric vehicles and expanding livelihood opportunities through the growing ride-hailing and delivery economy.

By combining skill development, access to technology, and employment pathways, the Stree Ride initiative aims to create a supportive ecosystem for women entering the workforce and pursuing independent income opportunities in Telangana.
