Switzerland, December 04, 2025: Bühler has named food scientist and engineer Béatrice Conde-Petit and process engineer Markus Hofer as the first recipients of its newly introduced Bühler Fellowship program. The initiative recognizes individuals whose expertise and contributions have significantly influenced the industries Bühler serves, extending beyond their corporate roles.

Announcing the appointments, Stefan Scheiber, CEO, Bühler Group, said, “Béatrice Conde-Petit and Markus Hofer have each made extraordinary contributions to Bühler. Their work has driven technological advancements, shaped strategies for our key businesses, and advanced our sustainability goals. As Bühler Fellows, they will continue to provide the thought leadership, talent mentoring, and guidance that have distinguished their careers.”

As Fellows, Conde-Petit and Hofer will act as mentors, advisors and ambassadors of technical excellence across the organisation. They will support Bühler’s broader innovation agenda and strengthen collaboration across industry partners, academia, start-ups, NGOs and customers to develop sustainable solutions for global markets.

Ian Roberts, CTO, Bühler Group, said, “The Bühler Fellowship recognizes individuals who embody technical excellence and the collaborative spirit that drives Bühler forward. Our Fellows exemplify the dedication and mentorship that define our culture of innovation. Through their continued guidance, we will accelerate progress toward a more sustainable future, helping our customers grow their businesses while lowering their environmental footprint.”

Conde-Petit, who has been with Bühler for more than 15 years, has played a key role in advancing food and feed processing, machinery efficiency and food safety. Her leadership has shaped Bühler’s sustainability strategy and strengthened the integration of science and technology into customer solutions. In 2025, she received the World Business Council for Sustainable Development Leading Women Award for her contributions to corporate sustainability.

“It is an honor to be named Bühler Fellow. I am grateful for this recognition and excited to bring my experience to drive innovation. I want to help build a future proof food system that makes a positive difference for society and our industry. I am passionate about working closely with customers and partners, and about building and guiding talents to make it happen,” said Béatrice Conde-Petit.

Hofer, who has worked at Bühler for more than three decades, is known for his strategic and technical leadership in both food and advanced materials. His contributions include shaping technology roadmaps, leading key business developments and supporting talent development through mentoring and innovation programmes such as the Solar Energy Racers. He also serves on advisory boards of Empa and RhySearch.

“I appreciate this recognition. Throughout my career at Bühler, I have been fortunate to work with talented teams and leading customers that continually push the boundaries of technology. As a Bühler Fellow, I hope to keep contributing by sharing knowledge, encouraging curiosity, and helping our people and partners succeed,” said Markus Hofer.

The Bühler Fellowship is the highest recognition within the company’s expert pathway and honours individuals with exceptional expertise, business impact and commitment to nurturing future talent. Fellows are selected through an internal process overseen by the Executive Board.
