Bühler and Hyundai Mark 20 Years of Die-Casting Partnership
India, September 21, 2026: Swiss technology group Bühler has marked 20 years of collaboration with Hyundai Motor Group, during which it has supplied 43 die-casting systems to Hyundai production facilities across South Korea, China and India.
The partnership began in 2006 with the installation of a Bühler Evolution 270D machine at Hyundai’s Ulsan complex in South Korea. Since then, Bühler has supplied 43 systems, including Carat and Evolution machines, to Hyundai production sites.
The equipment includes six Carat machines installed at Hyundai WIA’s facility in Rizhao, China, and one Carat machine at Hyundai Motor’s Research and Development foundry centre in Ulsan. A total of 36 Evolution machines have also been supplied for automotive applications including powertrain, structural and e-mobility components.

Bühler said its die-casting solutions have supported Hyundai’s manufacturing requirements as the automotive sector has moved towards electrification, digital integration and greater production flexibility.
“Twenty years reflects a relationship that goes beyond the installations,” said Naim Selmani, Business Development Manager Die Casting at Bühler. “Our collaboration with Hyundai has been built on reliable equipment, responsive service, and sustained technical cooperation. The first machine we supplied to Hyundai remains in operation today and has recently undergone a control-system upgrade.”
According to Bühler, Hyundai has reported operational improvements on production lines equipped with its technology, including scrap-rate reductions of up to 50% and an increase in overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) of around 10%.
“These results show the value of efficient and reliable production. Improvements in productivity and material usage help manufacturers like Hyundai reduce costs, make better use of resources, and stay competitive in a fast-changing industry,” said Naim Selmani.
Bühler also provides technical support, training and equipment upgrades to Hyundai. Yongjin Park, Director Business Unit Technology at DKSH, partnering company of Bühler in Korea, said the collaboration has combined Bühler’s technology expertise with Hyundai’s market knowledge.
Bühler said it will continue supporting Hyundai’s manufacturing expansion, including its focus on electrified vehicles, smart manufacturing and next-generation mobility technologies.
