Agra, August 25, 2025: Axis Bank Foundation (ABF) and Medha have announced a four-year partnership to equip 16,000 youth from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Bihar with employability, technical, and vocational skills aimed at preparing them for emerging opportunities in diverse industries.

The programme will reach over 9,600 youth in Uttar Pradesh, 4,800 in Haryana, and 1,600 in Bihar. It seeks to strengthen the local ecosystem by providing confidence-building, workplace exposure, and career pathways. Medha will work with state education systems and community-based organisations to ensure wider outreach across peri-urban areas, targeting students from government colleges, polytechnics, and vocational institutions.

The initiative will use a blended delivery model anchored by campus-based Career Service Centres, virtual learning platforms, and WhatsApp communities to offer mentoring, counselling, and continuous learning opportunities.

Key focus areas include training 9,700 youth in skills relevant to the freelance and gig economy such as beauty and makeup, tailoring, accounting, digital services, and creative arts. Another 6,300 youth will undergo training in digital literacy, data analytics, cloud computing, and workplace readiness, with participants also receiving support through industry mentors, marketplaces, and peer learning communities.

Speaking on the partnership, Dhruvi Shah, Executive Trustee & CEO, Axis Bank Foundation, said, “Through our partnership with Medha, ABF is taking another step towards its commitment to building sectorally diverse and purpose-driven career pathways for India’s youth. Leveraging Medha’s strong ties with state’s higher education systems and employment ecosystem, the programme offers mentoring, counselling, and continuous learning opportunities. By enabling youth to skill, upskill, and respond to evolving industry needs, we are helping them unlock emerging opportunities and lead their careers with confidence and pride.”

Byomkesh Mishra, Co-founder, Medha, added, “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to nurturing young talent. With the support of Axis Bank Foundation, this moment is not just about celebrating career aspirations — it’s about beginning a journey of helping youth pursue careers of their choice and driving long-term social and economic change.”

The partnership aims to build resilience and confidence among youth, ensuring they are equipped for employment and sustained success in a dynamic economy.
