New Delhi, November 4, 2025 — The ARC Global Sustainability Awards 2025 witnessed an inspiring gathering of students, educators, and institutions from across India and beyond, as Miranda House College, Delhi, hosted this year’s grand celebration of environmental leadership and sustainable innovation.

Organized by ARC, the Global Sustainability Awards honour schools, educators, students, NGOs, startups and individual changemakers who are driving real-world impact through sustainable actions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This year’s theme, “We Have a Dream - 100 Million Changemakers,” underscored a collective vision to mobilize communities and youth to lead the global sustainability movement. The event recognized over 600 schools, students, educators, NGOs, startups and individual changemakers who have made exemplary contributions to environmental education, waste management, renewable energy initiatives and sustainable lifestyles.

The awards ceremony featured distinguished guests from academia, industry and civil society who emphasized the importance of nurturing changemakers at the grassroots level. The 2-day event (Nov 1-2) included cultural performances, sustainability exhibits and interactive sessions that highlighted creativity and collaboration in action.

Speaking at the event, Ritu Malhotra and Anit Gupta, Founders of the Global Sustainability Awards, shared, “We have a dream, a dream to create 100 million changemakers where 100 million changemakers rise - not for fame, not for applause but for the planet.”

Miranda House College, known for its leadership in sustainability and education, provided an inspiring venue for the event. The lush green campus and eco-friendly practices of the college reflected the spirit of the awards - celebrating institutions that “walk the talk” on sustainability. Among the highlights was the recognition of the Global SDG Superhero Schools, Legendary School Leaders, and Individual Changemakers. Student winners and educators received special honours for outstanding impact projects addressing real-world sustainability challenges.

Sunrise English Private School, Abu Dhabi, UAE won the most prestigious SDG Superhero – GOLD award for leading the way in three vital areas: Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), fostering Sustainable Practices, and demonstrating unwavering Commitment to Community Service. It was followed by Learners International School, Greater Noida, India which won the SDG Superhero – SILVER award.

The celebration concluded with a call to action - urging every attendee to carry forward the message of sustainability, one conscious decision at a time.

The vision of the platform is to create a vibrant platform where schools, students, educators, colleges, startups, corporates, NGOs, and individuals working on sustainability come together, collaborate, learn from each other, and enhance their own impact in the process.
