Pipavav, November 20, 2025: APM Terminals Pipavav has continued its long-running rural healthcare initiative by conducting its bimonthly eye check-up camp in collaboration with Sudarshan Netralaya, Amreli, and Gayatri Parivar Trust, Rajula. The programme, operational since 2017, focuses on providing accessible and quality eye care to underserved communities in the region.

The latest camp saw participation from more than 200 villagers, including 110 men and 90 women, from over 70 villages surrounding the port. After clinical examinations, 56 cataract and other minor surgeries were successfully completed at Sudarshan Netralaya, ensuring timely treatment for those with vision challenges.

Since inception, the initiative has supported more than 8,000 individuals, benefiting senior citizens, daily-wage labourers, truck drivers and others who have limited access to specialized medical facilities.

Commenting on the programme’s impact, Girish Aggarwal, Managing Director, APM Terminals Pipavav, said:
“Accessible healthcare is a critical need in rural communities, and our eye check-up camp ensures that villagers receive timely diagnosis and treatment without financial or logistical burdens. Reaching more than 8,000 beneficiaries is a reminder of how sustained efforts, along with the support of partners like Sudarshan Netralaya, can make a meaningful difference in people’s daily lives.”

Through this ongoing rural health initiative, APM Terminals Pipavav continues to focus on inclusive healthcare by delivering essential eye-care services to remote communities and supporting long-term community well-being.
