New Delhi, 11 February 2026: Ambuja Cements has reported that two students from its Bathinda After School Centre have been selected for the Punjab Kho-Kho Team following the U-14 trials conducted by the Punjab State Association in Patiala.

The selected students — Anmol Singh, a Class 8 student and son of Gurpreet Singh, and Kiranpal Kaur, a Class 7 student and daughter of Jagtar Singh — will represent Punjab at the 35th Sub Junior National Kho-Kho Championship, scheduled to be held in Kurukshetra, Haryana, from 31 January to 4 February 2026.

In addition to the student selections, Sukhpreet, the After School Coach associated with the Bathinda centre, has been selected as the Coach of the Punjab Girls Team and will accompany the squad to the national championship.

The Bathinda After School Centre operates at GSSS Buladewala School and is part of Ambuja Cements’ nationwide After School Sports Programme implemented under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The programme focuses on identifying and nurturing young talent in athletics and kho-kho, while encouraging discipline, teamwork and overall development through structured sports training.

The selections from the Bathinda centre reflect the programme’s emphasis on providing rural and semi-urban students with access to organised sports coaching and competitive platforms. By linking school-level training with state and national-level opportunities, the initiative aims to support long-term talent development in grassroots sports.

Through its After School Sports Programme, Ambuja Cements continues to engage with local schools and communities across multiple states, creating pathways for young athletes to pursue structured sports development alongside their education.
