Akvo Ranked Among Fast Company’s Most Innovative Asia-Pacific Firms for Water-from-Air Technology

New Delhi, March 30, 2026: Akvo Atmospheric Water Systems Pvt. Ltd. has been ranked among Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies in the Asia-Pacific region for 2026, securing the 10th position. The company is one of only three Indian firms featured on the global list, highlighting its work in developing alternative water solutions.

The recognition underscores Akvo’s focus on Atmospheric Water Generation (AWG), a technology that converts moisture in the air into clean drinking water. The approach is gaining attention as a potential solution for water-stressed regions, including parts of India facing increasing pressure due to urbanisation, climate change, and groundwater depletion.

Fast Company’s annual list recognises organisations that demonstrate innovation across technology, sustainability, and business transformation. Akvo’s inclusion reflects its efforts to create decentralised water solutions that can operate across varying climatic conditions with minimal infrastructure.

Navkaran Singh Bagga, CEO & Founder at Akvo, said, “This recognition from Fast Company is not just a milestone for Akvo, but also a reflection of a much larger shift towards creatively and innovatively tackling the broader world’s real-world challenges. To be one of the few Indian companies on this global list and earn it through an organic selection further reaffirms our conviction that purpose and climate-driven innovations have the potential to scale globally. With water stress becoming an increasingly predominant challenge for India, we believe that atmospheric water generation will have a significant role in developing resilience and self-sufficiency.”

Akvo’s AWG technology is designed to enable communities, institutions, and businesses to generate water locally, reducing dependence on groundwater sources and long-distance water transportation. The model also aims to improve sustainability and operational efficiency in water supply systems.

The recognition comes at a time when water security is emerging as a critical challenge across several regions. Solutions such as AWG are increasingly being explored as part of broader strategies to build climate resilience and ensure reliable access to clean water.
