Akshaya Patra Foundation inaugurates centralized kitchen in Mangalore with a capacity of 25,000 daily meals

New Delhi, December 02, 2023: The Akshaya Patra Foundation has inaugurated its centralized kitchen in Mangalore, Karnataka. Supported by donors Vijay & Shama Kedia, GT Foundation, and Diya Systems (Mangalore) Pvt. Ltd., the kitchen stands as a testament to the late Dr V Ravichandran's enduring support and vision.

The kitchen has a capacity to produce 25,000 nutritious meals daily for over 165 schools, including 124 government and 41 government-aided institutions, nourishing children's education, and well-being. The kitchen's diverse menu ensures balanced nutrition, featuring traditional dishes and culinary delights designed to provide wholesome diets to children. Embracing sustainability, the facility integrates solar power and clean LPG, and plans for further environmental advancements.

The forthcoming inauguration ceremony will be attended by Chief Guest Nalin Kumar Kateel, Member of Parliament from Dakshina Kannada constituency, and Guest of Honor Shri U. T. Khader, Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly & Member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, Mangalore. Dr. P Dayanand Pai, Chairman of Century Real Estate Group, Bengaluru; M.P. Mullai Muhilan, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district; and Dr. Anandha K, IAS, CEO, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat will also attend the event.

Adding to the auspicious event, the ceremony will witness the presence of His Holiness Shri Shri Shri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji, of Jagadguru Sri Madhwaachaarya Moola Mahaa Samsthaanam, Shri Puthige Matha, Udupi. Additionally, Shri Madhu Pandit Dasa, Chairman, The Akshaya Patra Foundation and Shri Chanchalapathi Dasa, Vice-Chairman of The Akshaya Patra Foundation, will be present to mark this significant occasion.
