Mysore, Mar 28, 2025: As part of its series of initiatives aimed at strengthening water security and community resilience in Karnataka, Beverage company AB InBev India has set up a Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water ATM in CV Koppal Village in Mysore, which delivers clean drinking water per hour to over 1,000 local residents. The advanced water station integrates rainwater recharge facilities, supporting long-term groundwater sustainability in the region.

The initiative was inaugurated by Geetha UV, Deputy Superintendent of Excise, Putta Swamy, Panchayat Development Officer, Mysuru, and Manoj Kumar, Inspector – Bannur Police Station, T Narasipura Taluk, Mysore district.

"At AB InBev India, water sustainability is more than an environmental commitment—it’s a strategic imperative that drives our purpose,” said Mahesh Mittal, Vice President - Supply, AB InBev India. “By investing in innovative water solutions and empowering local communities, we are transforming challenges into opportunities for shared prosperity and long-term resilience," he said.

Building on its long-term sustainability strategy, AB InBev India successfully conserved 36 million liters of water between 2023 and 2024 and is targeting an ambitious 4 million HL recharge capacity in 2025. These efforts will benefit over 1,000 farmers by improving water access and delivering high-quality silt to boost agricultural productivity.

In partnership with local communities, the company has also undertaken large-scale desilting projects in Segehalli, Kodegehalli, and Bendaravadi villages, restoring 125 million liters of water capture capacity. Validated by the IIT-IIT Water Tech Platform, the initiative mobilized 267 farmers and completed 12.5 desilting modules, each designed to retain 10 million liters of water.

By 2025, AB InBev India aims to achieve a 100% improvement in water availability and quality, reinforcing its leadership in responsible water management and community-led impact.
