Bengaluru, July 22, 2023: Aahwahan Foundation has announced the establishment of its 62nd Modern Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), a fully equipped 20-bed facility at a government hospital, aimed at strengthening neonatal healthcare services for economically disadvantaged families.

The new NICU is equipped with advanced neonatal care infrastructure to provide specialised treatment for premature, low-birth-weight and critically ill newborns. The facility will offer free neonatal intensive care, helping improve access to life-saving treatment for families who rely on public healthcare services.

According to the Foundation, the initiative addresses the continuing need for quality neonatal care in government hospitals, where access to specialised treatment remains limited for many underprivileged communities. The project is expected to contribute to better maternal and child healthcare outcomes by expanding critical care infrastructure for newborns.

The initiative has been implemented as part of Aahwahan Foundation's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)-led healthcare programmes, in collaboration with corporate partners to strengthen public healthcare infrastructure.

Speaking on the occasion, a spokesperson for Aahwahan Foundation said, "Every newborn deserves the opportunity to survive and thrive. Our mission extends beyond creating healthcare infrastructure—we are committed to saving lives and strengthening India's public healthcare system. The 62nd Modern NICU represents hope for thousands of families who depend on government hospitals for quality medical care. Through meaningful CSR collaborations, we are creating sustainable healthcare solutions that will benefit communities for years to come."

Aahwahan Foundation works across healthcare, education, women’s empowerment, environmental sustainability and community development. The organisation has implemented CSR projects in multiple states, including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Maharashtra and Haryana, supporting initiatives focused on improving access to essential services.

The Foundation said it will continue to work with corporate partners and institutions to expand healthcare infrastructure and improve access to quality medical care through CSR-driven interventions.
