Muddenahalli, July 15, 2025: In a major step towards farmer welfare, the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR), in collaboration with Subhiksha Organic Farmers Multi-state Co-operative Society Ltd, has launched the ‘Sai Subhiksha Kisan Health Card’. The initiative was introduced during the “Seeding the Future – Together with the Farmers” event held at Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli, on July 13, 2025.
The newly launched health card will provide free access to healthcare services for farmers at SMSIMSR, a multi-specialty medical institute that offers evidence-based, world-class care entirely free of charge as part of the One World One Family Mission.
The event brought together more than 1,500 farmers who are engaged in cultivating Ragi under the Subhiksha initiative. As part of a continuing tradition, the farmers offered Ragi seeds at the Divine Lotus Feet ahead of the sowing season — a symbolic gesture of their devotion and commitment to sustainable farming.
Keynote speaker Sri Madhusudan Sai, founder of SMSIMSR and proponent of the One World One Family Mission, lauded the farmers for their essential role in nation-building. “While soldiers protect the nation’s borders, farmers fight daily battles to sustain the country. We must honour, respect, and thank them for their vital contribution,” he said.
He also extended gratitude to Mr. Fukuoka of Agbiotech, Japan, who introduced the philosophy of ‘Shindo Fuji’ — meaning the unity of body and earth — underlining the interconnectedness of human life and nature. Other dignitaries at the event included Ananda AA Shri, T.B. Jayachandra, and Sri Sri Pardeshkendra Swami, who expressed appreciation for the farmers’ unwavering service.
The launch of the Sai Subhiksha Kisan Health Card was positioned as a concrete demonstration of the mission’s commitment to societal upliftment through holistic support — encompassing both sustainable agriculture and healthcare access.
The programme concluded with collective prayers for a successful and abundant Ragi cultivation season, underscoring the spirit of gratitude, unity, and service that marked the occasion.
