Bengaluru, October 13, 2025: Unnati Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on providing vocational and employability training to underprivileged youth, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to implement its flagship UNXT program across government colleges and industrial training institutes (ITIs) in the state.
Under the three-year agreement, the initiative will be rolled out across 200 government colleges and ITIs, with an aim to train 25,000 final-year students annually. Over the duration of the MoU, Unnati Foundation expects to train a total of 75,000 students across Gujarat, preparing them for employment and career growth.
The UNXT program is a 200-hour employability and life-skills training module that equips students with real-world competencies including communication, workplace readiness, professional etiquette, and values-based education. The program combines 90 hours of offline classroom instruction with 90 hours of online learning through Unnati’s Learning Management System (LMS). Participants also undergo a psychometric assessment that provides a detailed aptitude and career readiness report.
The initiative is open to students from all academic streams—arts, commerce, science, and engineering—and aims to bridge the employability gap among youth, especially from rural and underserved communities.
To facilitate employment linkages, Unnati Foundation will integrate student data into its Udhyogam platform — a specialized job portal designed for freshers. The portal enables recruiters to access profiles based on location, academic background, and includes features such as video resumes to enhance candidate visibility and engagement.
Commenting on the MoU, Dr. Ramesh Swamy, Director, Unnati Foundation, said,
“Our aim through this partnership is to drive grassroots-level change by ensuring that fresh graduates are skilled and ready to meet the demands of the employment world. This initiative is a significant step towards bridging the employability gap among youth, particularly those from rural and underrepresented communities. We look forward to working closely with colleges across Gujarat to equip final-year students with essential life skills and long-term career opportunities.”
Unnati Foundation’s UNXT program is conducted free of cost and supported by corporate CSR initiatives. The Foundation plans to train over 2 lakh youth across India in FY 2025–26 through programs hosted at government colleges in 12 states and at its own training centers.
Unnati Foundation is also India’s first non-profit organization to be listed on the National and Bombay Stock Exchange Social Stock Exchanges, a move that ensures transparency and rigorous auditing standards within the social impact sector.
