New Delhi, January 12, 2026: The Body Shop marked National Youth Day by hosting a youth-led sustainability session under the second edition of its Youth Collective Council (YCC 2.0), reaffirming its focus on integrating young voices into business decision-making and sustainability discourse. The session was organised as part of the brand’s ongoing efforts to position itself as a catalyst for youth empowerment and societal change.

The session featured climate author, documentary filmmaker and environmental artist Aakash Ranison, who shared insights on climate awareness, education and youth-led action. During the interaction, Ranison spoke about his “One Million Students” mission, which aims to educate and mobilise students across Tier 1 cities to integrate sustainability into everyday decision-making and influence consumption-led change. He also reflected on YCC 2.0 as an example of how youth perspectives can meaningfully inform business strategy and long-term sustainability thinking.

The Youth Collective Council 2.0 builds on The Body Shop’s earlier engagement with young changemakers and seeks to embed youth-led insights into the brand’s approach to responsible consumption, inclusion and environmental stewardship. The initiative is designed to create a platform where young people can engage directly with brands and contribute to conversations around sustainability and ethical business practices.

Commenting on the initiative, Rahul Shanker, Group CEO, Quest Retail – The Body Shop, said, “At The Body Shop, we believe in real change begins when businesses listen to the voices shaping the future. Youth Collective Council 2.0 represents our commitment to opening up decision-making spaces to the next generation and embedding their perspectives into how businesses evolve. Initiatives like these reflect The Body Shop’s purpose-led approach to nurturing responsible consumption, inclusive growth, and long-term change.”

Through YCC 2.0, The Body Shop continues to engage with young leaders, practitioners and storytellers to encourage dialogue on sustainability and climate action, while reinforcing its broader commitment to ethical practices and inclusive progress in the beauty and retail sector.
