New Delhi, November 3, 2025: The Ministry of Media, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has launched the second edition of the ‘Global Harmony’ initiative, featuring ‘India Week’ as its inaugural celebration under the ongoing Riyadh Season. The event highlights the deepening cultural and people-to-people ties between India and Saudi Arabia while celebrating the Indian expatriate community’s contribution to the Kingdom.

Part of the Quality-of-Life Program supporting Saudi Vision 2030, the Global Harmony initiative aims to celebrate the diversity of residents living in the Kingdom, spotlighting their cultural heritage, achievements, and integration into Saudi society. It reflects Saudi Arabia’s commitment to inclusivity, coexistence, and cross-cultural understanding, recognizing the role of expatriates in enriching the nation’s cultural and economic landscape.

As part of this year’s celebrations, the Ministry of Media, in collaboration with the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), will host a series of cultural and entertainment events throughout the Riyadh Season. India Week will serve as the opening event, honoring the Indian community’s longstanding contribution to the Kingdom and showcasing India’s rich and diverse traditions through music, dance, cuisine, art, and crafts.

Prominent Indian media representatives, artists, and cultural figures are expected to participate, strengthening the cultural bridge between the two nations.

Expressing appreciation for the initiative, Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, Indian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, said: “Building on the success of the last edition in 2024, this year’s preparations promise to be an even bigger celebration of Indian music, dance, cuisines and handicraft, with the participation of well-known Indian artists and performers. I once again complement the Ministry of Media and the General Entertainment Authority for their significant contribution in promoting cross-cultural understanding under the Global Harmony Initiative. It's an excellent effort to build cultural bridges, promote stronger people-to-people ties and reaffirm the close historical bonds between India and Saudi Arabia.”

Beyond India Week, the wider Global Harmony Initiative will celebrate 14 different cultures represented by residents of Saudi Arabia, including those from the Philippines, Indonesia, Egypt, Yemen, Jordan, Uganda, and Ethiopia. Events will feature concerts, traveling performances, family-friendly activities, and showcases of traditional food and handicrafts, welcoming citizens and residents of all nationalities.

The initiative underscores Saudi Arabia’s growing efforts to strengthen international cultural exchange and cooperation while recognizing the contributions of its expatriate communities in shaping a diverse and dynamic national identity.
