Chennai, January 09, 2026: Samsung has partnered with the University of Madras to launch the Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) in Tamil Nadu, expanding its flagship technology education initiative aimed at equipping youth with future-ready digital skills.
The collaboration marks Samsung Innovation Campus’ entry into Tamil Nadu, where the programme will train 5,000 students in 2026—around 25 per cent of its national target. In the first phase, 500 students from the University of Madras will receive training, followed by 1,500 students from affiliated colleges. The University of Madras is among India’s oldest public universities, with a wide academic network across the state.
Samsung Innovation Campus focuses on building competencies in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data, and Coding and Programming, aligned with state and national skilling priorities. The programme is designed to enhance employability by combining technical training with soft skills development and placement support.
With this expansion, Samsung Innovation Campus now spans 10 states across India and aims to train 20,000 students nationwide in 2025—a six-fold increase compared to the previous year. Since its launch in India in 2022, the initiative has trained 6,500 students by 2024 and is expected to reach a cumulative total of 26,500 students by the end of 2025.
The initiative places a strong emphasis on inclusion, with women accounting for 44 per cent of participants at the national level. Samsung has stated that the programme continues to prioritise underserved and semi-urban communities to broaden access to technology education.
Samsung implements the Innovation Campus in partnership with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) under the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), working through accredited training partners to deliver the curriculum.
Alongside other youth-focused initiatives such as Samsung Solve for Tomorrow and Samsung DOST, Samsung Innovation Campus forms part of the company’s broader efforts to support skill development, build technology talent pipelines, and prepare India’s youth for careers in a digitally driven economy.
