Restaurant Cricket League, Adi Bodh Foundation Launch 'Hunger Free Bharat' Mission To Address Food Security

New Delhi, Jan 8, 2025: The Restaurant Cricket League (RCL), a unique national cricket tournament supported by Incredible India, the Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the Adi Bodh Foundation, has launched the “Hunger Free Bharat” mission, an initiative aimed at eradicating hunger and minimizing food waste across the nation. 
     
This mission aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s idea of Vikshit Bharat 2047 and aids the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal of Zero Hunger by the year 2030, thus making citizens, businesses, and policymakers ensure that no plate goes empty.

Hunger Free Bharat mission aims to bridge the gap between food waste and hunger by creating a sustainable distribution system. This mission is a nationwide movement to build a fairer and more equitable society where nourishment is a right for all. The campaign emphasizes awareness, collaboration, and actionable solutions to combat food waste. The contradiction between hunger and the wastage of food in India is one of its greatest challenges. Every year, 68.8 million tons of food, worth around Rs 7,92,000 crores is wasted, while 33.4 million children below the age of five suffer from malnutrition, with 17.2 million of them in severe distress.
