New Delhi, July 02, 2026: The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and Google India Private Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance India's global tourism visibility and strengthen its digital infrastructure. This marks the Ministry's first comprehensive partnership with a global technology company.

The collaboration brings together the Ministry's tourism mandate with Google's expertise in data insights, digital platforms, and technology integration. It is framed as a knowledge-sharing initiative designed to support a more seamless and enriching travel ecosystem across Indian destinations.

The MoU is structured around three areas of focus.

The first covers travel trend insights, where Google will provide dashboards tracking global travel demand, helping the Ministry monitor shifts in traveller behaviour and plan accordingly.

The second focuses on digital discovery, with the Incredible India app set to explore deeper integration with Google Maps for improved navigation experiences. YouTube will also play a role in guiding the Ministry on scaling content creation and broadening the reach of the Incredible India channel to global audiences.

The third pillar involves building digital capacity within the Ministry, with Google offering hands-on training sessions for officers and practitioners. These sessions are aimed at equipping participants to manage, optimise, and monitor digital campaigns independently.

Preeti Lobana, Country Manager, Google India, said: "India is one of the most searched travel destinations globally, yet much of its diversity remains to be fully discovered digitally. This collaboration is our commitment to closing that gap. From sharing insights on the dynamic landscape of global travel to empowering the Ministry's teams with strategic digital skills, every element is designed to support the Ministry's vision. We are proud to partner with the Ministry to build a blueprint for sustained digital excellence."

The partnership will be overseen by a joint review structure to track progress against key milestones. It is the first of its kind for the Ministry of Tourism, positioning the collaboration as a longer-term framework rather than a one-time initiative.
