FedEx Singapore and Zero Waste SG Launch ‘Sort It Out’ Campaign to Promote Community Recycling

Singapore, January 05, 2026: Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has partnered with non-profit organisation Zero Waste Singapore to launch the ‘Sort It Out’ (SIO) campaign, an initiative aimed at improving household recycling practices and encouraging mindful consumption within local communities.

As part of the collaboration, FedEx supported the development of educational materials and neighbourhood outreach programmes, leading to the establishment of a new Recycling Hub in Queenstown. The hub is equipped with smart multi-stream recycling bins designed to improve source segregation. The campaign has also introduced the Zero Waste Marketplace, which offers pre-loved clothing, books, snacks, and products crafted from recycled materials to promote affordable and sustainable living.

Community engagement formed a key component of the initiative. On August 16, a group of 16 FedEx volunteers joined Zero Waste SG for door-to-door surveys in the Queenstown residential area. The volunteers shared educational resources on correct recycling practices and collected feedback on residents’ recycling habits. The campaign has so far reached more than 1,200 households.

Since the Recycling Hub began operations, residents have contributed over three tonnes of recyclables, with contamination rates remaining below five percent. Lower contamination levels indicate improved recycling quality and help reduce the volume of waste sent to landfills.

The SIO campaign builds on Zero Waste SG’s earlier ‘Let’s Recycle Together’ programme, which introduced source-segregated recycling as a practical approach to address Singapore’s low national recycling rate. By encouraging households to sort recyclables at the source, the initiative seeks to increase awareness of waste generation and foster long-term recycling habits.

The campaign is part of FedEx Cares, FedEx’s global community engagement programme that focuses on social impact through charitable giving, in-kind logistics support, and employee volunteerism.
