New Delhi, September 19, 2025: The Data Security Council of India (DSCI), in collaboration with Siemens Limited, has inaugurated an Operational Technology (OT) Cyber Security Lab at the Nasscom Campus, Noida. The initiative aims to bolster India’s cybersecurity readiness for critical infrastructure and OT environments.

The lab will serve as a national resource for validating and testing solutions in controlled environments, while also acting as a hub for training, skill development, and research. Equipped with a testbed to study vulnerabilities and threat detection methodologies, it will provide startups and industry professionals with access to technology and expertise to build resilient OT security solutions.

Inaugurating the lab, Shri KK Singh, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & IT, said, “I would like to congratulate DSCI and Siemens Limited for coming up with this OT Cyber Security Lab. Today, critical infrastructure security is the need of the hour to strengthen national security and within that securing operational technology is crucial. This project should work as an enabler for startups, researchers and industry professionals to be able to assess their capabilities and come up with better security solutions for critical infrastructure. I am happy to see such facilities getting developed to help user organisations and startups to contribute towards a more resilient OT ecosystem.”

Vinayak Godse, CEO of DSCI, noted, “The OT lab is an extension to the existing capability of our National Centre of Excellence, a joint initiative between MeitY and DSCI. The lab will facilitate collaboration between government agencies, academia, industry and startups involved in critical infrastructure. It will help user organisations and startups to innovate and validate the efficacy of their solutions in complex and regulated environments. This will support the nation's preparedness against cyber threats targeting critical infrastructure and create unified responses. I would like to heartily thank Siemens for partnering with us and bring their global expertise to deliver this capability for India.”

Suprakash Chaudhuri, Head of Digital Industries, Siemens Limited, added, “As digitalization accelerates across industry and infrastructure in India, the convergence of IT and OT also exposes the systems to new vulnerabilities. This gives rise to the urgent need for robust and scalable security solutions. We believe that cybersecurity must evolve in tandem with digital transformation. The launch of the OT Cybersecurity Lab is a strategic step toward India’s sustained efforts to secure critical infrastructure and manufacturing ecosystems. The lab will help empower industries in India to build resilient and Cybersecure operations.”
