National, December 23: Deloitte India's annual volunteering drive, Impact Day, now in its 22nd year, saw over 68,000 volunteers collaborate on various social impact projects. The initiative focused on community upskilling, development, and sustainability, impacting more than 550,000 beneficiaries directly and indirectly across 13 cities.
Held in two phases on November 29 and December 13, 2024, Impact Day provided Deloitte professionals with an opportunity to engage in efforts aimed at creating positive change. Volunteers from various career levels and professional domains dedicated a working day to causes such as sustainability, support for persons with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, skills empowerment, education, and animal welfare.
To facilitate this widespread engagement, many volunteer leaders identify non-profit organizations and work with internal teams to develop day-long programs. Volunteers then register for initiatives that align with their interests.

“Impact Day holds a special place in our hearts—it’s more than a tradition; it’s a reflection of our shared purpose. Through these initiatives, we’re not just giving back to our communities; we’re also enriching our own lives with a sense of purpose and connection. Impact Day is a reminder that when we extend our empathy into action, we not only make a difference in the world around us but also receive something profound in return—a sense of fulfilment, the joy of driving change, and the intangible blessings that come from truly meaningful work,” said Saraswathi Kasturirangan, Chief Happiness Officer, Deloitte India.
“Giving back to the community is deeply ingrained in Deloitte's culture, and our people take great pride in it. This is why we’re excited each year to bring our passion, knowledge, and skills to drive positive change and make an impact in our communities,” added Sanjeev Jammihal, Purpose Office Leader, Deloitte US: India Offices. “On Impact Day, our professionals participate in virtual and in-person projects, contributing meaningfully by mentoring students, empowering individuals, engaging in environmental projects, and supporting local animal shelters, among others. We come together to make our purpose possible,” he said.
