Mumbai, September 26, 2025: Colgate has announced that its flagship oral health education program, Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® (BSBF), has reached more than 2 billion children and their families worldwide since its inception in 1991. In India, the program has engaged over 185 million children and their families through collaborations with state governments and community partners.

The BSBF initiative provides oral health education, free dental screenings, and access to treatment for underserved communities. It also works with parents, teachers, NGOs, governments, and dental professionals to prioritize prevention and good oral hygiene practices.

Highlighting the programme’s impact, Ms. Shilpashree Muniswamappa, Director – ESG & Communications, Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited, said, “At Colgate, we are not just committed; we are passionately dedicated to supporting India’s transformative vision of shifting from reactive to preventive healthcare. We firmly believe that the most meaningful path to achieving this is through robust Public-Private-Policy Partnerships (PPPP). Our Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures program, through its powerful collaborations with education and healthcare departments in states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Assam, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Goa, is a living testament to how collective action can ignite awareness and inspire profound, lasting behavior change. Each year, our ambition soars higher – we aim to reach over 10 million more children and their families, cultivating strong oral health habits that will resonate and positively impact communities for generations to come.”

Colgate underlined that oral health remains a pressing issue in India, where socioeconomic disparities, limited awareness, and unequal access to care contribute to widespread tooth decay and gum disease, especially among children.

The company reiterated its commitment to ensuring that every child, from metropolitan areas to remote villages, has access to oral health education that not only improves smiles but also builds confidence for life.
