Calculus Group Signs ₹1000 Crore MoU with HRDS INDIA to Power AI Enabled Rural Transformation

New Delhi, March 23, 2025: In a move set to redefine rural India’s technological landscape, technology major Calculus Group, has signed a ₹1000 crore ($120 million USD) Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HRDS INDIA. This collaboration will drive AI powered rural enablement projects, ensuring that the most underserved communities in India gain access to cutting edge technological solutions that transform lives at scale. The alliance is set to have a positive impact on 7 crore families in rural India.

The Calculus Group has signed this strategic MoU as part of their Technology Collaboration Agreement with HRDS INDIA. As per the agreement, the group will fulfill projects undertaken by HRDS INDIA in the field of rural development, where technology will play a distinct role in social enablement. Calculus, a pioneer in providing AI enabled sanitary ware for rural communities, will also offer housing development facilities for rural upliftment.

With this alliance, AI driven sanitation, IoT powered infrastructure, and sustainable digital ecosystems will be introduced to rural India, setting a new global benchmark for integrating AI into rural welfare initiatives.

Speaking about the significance of this alliance, Sooraj Vasudevan, Founder and CEO of Calculus Group, said “This is more than an MoU. This is a movement.
