New Delhi, September 13, 2025:  Sportz Village Foundation has released its Annual Impact Report 2025, highlighting the outcomes of its flagship #SportForChange program, which reached more than 88,000 children across 248 public schools in 2024-25. The initiative leverages structured sport and play to drive improvements in health, education, livelihood, gender equity, inclusion, and sporting excellence.
According to the report, measurable outcomes include a 9% improvement in overall fitness quotient, a 47% rise in social-emotional learning (SEL) scores, and a 31% increase in children’s weekly physical activity. The program also supported 3,189 student-athletes, who collectively won 2,099 medals at state, district, and national tournaments.
Findings reaffirmed that sport is more than a recreational activity, serving as a developmental tool. Children engaged in play-based learning were found to be 22% more likely to achieve higher grades and pursue higher education. The impact was particularly significant for girls, who recorded a 49% improvement in SEL scores, underscoring sport’s role in building confidence and leadership skills.
Speaking on the findings, Parminder Gill, Co-founder and Head of Foundation, Sportz Village, said, “As we look ahead, we envision a future where sport is recognized not merely as a medium of play, but a tool for driving social transformation among young people. Over the next few years, our focus will be on advancing gender equity through sport, scaling sport-based development interventions and strengthening India’s talent pipeline. Achieving these goals demands collaboration between corporates, philanthropic organizations, government agencies, educators and communities. By pooling resources, infrastructure, expertise and funding, we can co-create scalable, sustainable models of change powered by sport.”
