Nissan receives top rankings for water security and climate change from CDP

Yokohama, Japan/ New Delhi, February 17, 2024: Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has been recognized for its leadership in corporate sustainability by CDP, a global environmental non-profit, for the fifth consecutive year in water security and for the eleventh consecutive year in climate change.

CDP's annual environmental disclosure and scoring process is considered a leading benchmark for corporate transparency on environmental issues. Nissan received the prestigious A List designation in both categories, indicating its strong performance in managing environmental risks and opportunities.

Key areas highlighted by CDP for Nissan's leadership:

- Water Security: Comprehensive management of water security challenges through the Global-Environmental Management Committee and regional committees, including risk mitigation strategies.
- Climate Change: Integration of climate change considerations into executive compensation, ambitious 2050 carbon neutrality goal for operations and product lifecycle, and launching of the EV36Zero initiative, a world-first EV manufacturing ecosystem.
- Science-Based Targets: Setting a CO2 reduction target aligned with the Science-Based Target initiative.
- Water Usage Reduction: Implementing water risk assessments at production sites worldwide, utilizing recycled wastewater and rainwater where water scarcity is a concern, and exceeding regulatory standards for drainage water management.
