By adhering to the highest standards of social and environmental criteria, Danone India has demonstrated its dedication to becoming a 'force for good' in India's business landscape. Danone India's journey toward B Corp™ certification underscores its longstanding commitment to fostering positive societal impact. The certification process, facilitated by B Lab, involved a rigorous assessment of the company's environmental and social practices, policies, and impacts. With an impressive overall impact score of 87.9, Danone India stands as a beacon of corporate accountability and transparency. Aligned with Danone's global mission to become the world's largest B Corp organization by 2025, this initiative serves as the driving force in building trust and accountability for the people and the community it operates in. It is also an expression of its long-time commitment to sustainable business and to Danone’s dual project of economic success and social progress.

The company's commitment extends beyond certification, as evidenced by its initiatives such as the zero water discharge facility at the Danone factory in Lalru and its ambitious target to achieve 100 percent reusable, recyclable, and compostable packaging by 2030. Moreover, Danone India's robust corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs, including partnerships with the Naandi Foundation to provide safe drinking water through Community Water Centres and Health camps with Doctors for You Foundation targeting Maternal and Child Health and Iron Deficiency Anaemia, underscore its dedication to societal well-being. This significantly improves the quality of life for local communities by addressing water scarcity and health issues related to contaminated water. 

Danone India also organizes health camps in partnership with the Doctors for You Foundation. These camps primarily target Maternal and Child Health and Iron Deficiency Anaemia, prevalent issues in many Indian communities. By providing necessary healthcare services and raising awareness about these health issues, Danone India is contributing to the overall well-being and health literacy of the communities we serve.

In the past, Danone India has demonstrated its commitment to environmental sustainability by creating 19 ponds in Lalru, Punjab. This initiative has not only helped conserve water but also positively impacted the local ecosystem.

Danone India aims for continuous improvement and plans to recertify every three years, thereby encouraging other businesses to adopt a similar approach. Aligned with Danone’s global mission, Danone India aims to become part of the world’s largest B Corp organization by 2025. We hope that this ambition can inspire other businesses to join the B Corp movement too.
