Mumbai, December 03, 2025: Keystone Foundation has announced a partnership with Thought Blurb to build an enhanced communication ecosystem that supports its long-standing work with Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities across the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, Central and Eastern India. Since 1993, Keystone has focused on environmental conservation, ecologically sensitive development, community wellbeing, sustainable livelihoods and cultural preservation.

The collaboration aims to bring together the complementary strengths of both organisations to improve storytelling, create new avenues for skill-sharing and develop communication strategies that amplify Keystone’s grassroots efforts. The two teams will jointly explore work retreats, field visits, internships and team exchange programmes to encourage cross-learning and deeper engagement.

“From Kotagiri to Mumbai, we want the teams to immerse themselves in each other’s environments through work retreats. We are creating opportunities for ideas to cross-pollinate. The objective is for employees of both organisations to explore avenues even beyond communication, to internships, field studies, team exchange programmes to allow both ecosystems to learn from each other. We look forward to Thought Blurb’s creative skills to bring alive the story of the land and its people,” said Pratim Roy, Founder-Director, Keystone Foundation.

The partnership will support Keystone’s advocacy around ecological development, biodiversity conservation, sustainable livelihoods and climate change by developing more effective and nuanced communication. Keystone is also home to community-led enterprises such as Last Forest and Aadhimalai, which support traditional honey hunters and tribal producers through fair, sustainable and locally grounded economic opportunities. Thought Blurb will assist these enterprises with creative strategies to boost their engagement and explore innovative product ideas.

Ecologist and Director Anita Varghese said, “We are dealing with very complex issues when it comes to indigenous cultures - forest rights, conservation, climate change to name a few. We need partners who have spent enough time absorbing the ground realities of what we do. We want to share what we are doing on the grassroots level, realistically and at the same time in a way that it engages the audience. We believe Thought Blurb will be instrumental in this effort.”

Vinod Kunj, Founder and CCO, Thought Blurb Communications, added, “For us at Thought Blurb, this is a vital, meaningful work. Working with Keystone is like walking into a living university and coming back rich with knowledge every day… So we are leaning towards innovative ways to tell the story of Keystone; even exploring a new pedagogy style of narration. As Pratim says, the idea is to evolve a communication ecosystem that is true to life.”

Thought Blurb has previously partnered with organisations working on ecological conservation, organic farming and indigenous community development, complementing Keystone’s mission to strengthen sustainable, community-led development.
