Kalsi Initiatives Champions Youth Education On POCSO Act

New Delhi, July 1, 2024: NGO Kalsi Initiatives has expanded its sessions on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act beyond Agra into neighbouring districts as part of its efforts to raise awareness and advocate for children's rights.

This initiative follows the resounding success of a recent workshop held under the Empowering Young Minds Initiative.

In June, the Empowering Young Minds Initiative, supported by Kalsi Initiatives, conducted a transformative workshop aimed at educating students from public schools in Agra about the crucial provisions of the POCSO Act. Led by dedicated legal experts, the session provided comprehensive insights into the act's nuances and detailed procedures for reporting instances of sexual offenses against minors.

The workshop, attended by over 250 students, received acclaim for its thorough examination of the legal framework and practical implications of the POCSO Act. The initiative, spearheaded by Kalsi Initiatives, emphasised the importance of awareness and education in combating child sexual abuse.

Encouraged by the workshop's impact in Agra, Kalsi Initiatives is extending its outreach to nearby regions, aiming to further raise awareness and advocate for children's rights.

Vanshika Kalsi, Co-founder of Kalsi Initiatives, expressed enthusiasm about broadening the initiative's scope. "Fighting child sexual abuse requires education and awareness, and our mission is to make sure that youth have access to the tools and information they need to be safe and protected.
