Bangalore, Sep 2, 2024: eVidyaloka, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to reshaping rural India's educational landscape, is inviting volunteers to join its mission of providing quality education to 200,000 rural students this year. Founded by former Microsoft India colleagues Satish and Venkat in 2011, eVidyaloka leverages technology and volunteerism to revolutionize rural education.

Currently boasting over 6,000 volunteers from more than 40 countries, including the USA, Europe, Dubai, and more, eVidyaloka empowers volunteers to teach remotely. Through its Digital Classroom initiative, volunteer teachers directly engage with rural students. The Digital Classroom has significantly impacted 14 states and 67 districts, including 25 aspirational districts, with modules taught in over 8 languages. Additionally, eVidyaloka's TTT (Teach through Television) program broadcasts educational content in local languages via cable channels, garnering over 3 crore views across 10 states and 256 districts in India. These innovative models are designed for scalability, replicability, and sustainable impact on rural communities.

eVidyaloka’s mission is to create a knowledgeable and empowered India through quality education, focusing on children aged 10-15 years (5th to 10th grade). The organization delivers enriching learning experiences in native languages through its unique programs. To date, eVidyaloka has positively impacted over 1.89 lakh students, facilitating more than 2.9 million child learning hours.

Speaking on the Volunteer program, Brinda Poornapragna – CEO, eVidyaloka, said, “Volunteerism is at the heart of eVidyaloka's success. Our dedicated volunteers from 40+ countries generously contribute their time and expertise to bridge the educational divide and empower the next generation. To be able to contribute from the comfort of home or office, every effort makes a meaningful impact. We invite individuals passionate about education and community development to join our mission. Together, we can ensure the rural students access quality education, fostering opportunities for a brighter future.”

The volunteering process is seamless, with an interactive virtual interface, teaching resources, and classroom support from a dedicated assistant. Volunteers can teach from anytime, anywhere, and can commit as low as 2 hours a week for at least 4 months, making it easy to fit into busy schedules while still making a significant impact.

eVidyaloka collaborates with large and reputed corporates like Microsoft, Cognizant, Brillio, KPMG, CGI, First source, LTI Mindtree, Infosys, Accenture, Atlassian, Intel, HSBC, EYGDS, etc. The employees of these organizations teach and support the education of children.

eVidyaloka is also pioneering courses in digital literacy and artificial intelligence (AI) through its EmpowerED and BRAIN programs, equipping rural learners with future-ready skills and bridging the digital divide.
