Vissannapet (Andhra Pradesh), Dec 9, 2024: Dr Reddy’s in collaboration with Kakinada Engineering Alumni Trust Services (KEATS) has extended infrastructure support to the Andhra Pradesh Tribal Welfare Residential College of Excellence (Girls) and Gurukul School (Girls) in Vissannapet at NTR district in the state.
This effort is further complemented by additional support from a Rotary Club Grant. These institutions, run by the state government, provide education to 480 school students and 160 college students, primarily girls from tribal areas across the state.
Through this initiative, Dr Reddy’s has provided infrastructure support, including that for STEM Lab, alongside contributions from other donors, including digital education tools supported by a Rotary Club Grant, enabling students' access to digital tools, engaging teaching methods, and sufficient infrastructure. This project aims to create a world-class educational environment, empowering girls students to take up competitive exams like IIT-JEE, EAMCET, and NEET and preparing them for admissions to prestigious higher education institutions.
Dr Reddy’s community engagement programmes through CSR are primarily focused in the fields of education, community healthcare, skill-based training and placement for youth and differently-abled, training for farmers and environmental sustainability. These programmes are developed with a vision to generate long-term value for the communities and foster an inclusive growth culture within the society. In 2023, Dr Reddy’s, in association with Dr Reddy’s Foundation, partnered with the district and education mandal in Nalgonda to construct a new Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) facility in Kampasagar village.
