Pipavav, Aug 3, 2024: APM Terminals Pipavav's healthcare initiatives have improved the well-being of local communities, the company said. The port's 24/7 Advanced Life Support Ambulance has completed 1,031 medical emergency trips, benefiting 1,292 villagers, with 74% of beneficiaries being women.
The ambulance, operational since May 2022, serves villages in the immediate vicinity of the port and has proven to be a lifeline for the community. Additionally, APM Terminals Pipavav operates a Mobile Health Unit that regularly visits nearby villages, providing primary healthcare to residents. The Port Medical Centre also offers medical treatment to over 2,000 villagers each month.
In collaboration with Sudarshan Netralaya, Amreli, the company organizes bimonthly eye check-up camps, benefiting over 5,000 villagers and facilitating over 1,000 cataract surgeries. These healthcare initiatives are part of APM Terminals Pipavav's comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility program, focusing on community development, education, environment, skill development, and women empowerment.
