Mumbai, Dec 18, 2024: Professional services firm Aon plc in collaboration with Wockhardt Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation engaged in social services, is sponsoring two Mobile Medical Clinics to provide essential healthcare services to underserved communities in India. Aon’s goal for this initiative is to support up to 10,000 patients by March 2025 with plans to extend the collaboration period.
As part of Aon’s corporate social responsibility initiative and commitment to enhance community health and wellbeing, the clinics will operate in selected rural and underserved urban communities, providing free primary healthcare services and creating awareness about various prevailing diseases.
The flag-off event of the mobile clinics, organised in Mumbai with the support of Wockhardt Foundation and Charities Aid Foundation (OneStage), marked the beginning of this impactful initiative. These mobile clinic vans are equipped with a doctor, pharmacist, drivers and essential medicines, and dispense primary healthcare services in Mumbai and NCR, using the ACDR model - (Awareness, Diagnosis, Cure and Referral).
Speaking at the launch, Anne Corona, CEO of Asia Pacific for Aon, said, “We are honoured to sponsor this initiative. At Aon, we are committed to supporting the communities in which we live and work, and this collaboration with Wockhardt Foundation aligns with our goal of making a positive impact on society.”
Denis Varghese, Director of Wockhardt Foundation, added, “Our collaboration with Aon reflects our shared vision of making healthcare accessible to all. This mobile clinic will bring quality medical services to the doorstep of those who need it the most.”
