TELUS International India revamps Gandhi Smarak Vidyalaya in Noida

Noida, September 30, 2023: TELUS International India (TII), a digital customer experience innovator, recently carried out its annual TELUS Days of Giving (TDOG) at Gandhi Smarak Vidyalaya, a public high school in Noida. Over 500 team members volunteered to support the school's 1,200 students. The volunteers refurbished three buildings with 20 classrooms, hallways, and staircases, along with hundreds of school desks and benches. An additional 210 desks and benches were donated. TELUS International India will provide 35 computers, desks, and chairs for the newly built computer lab. The company also added a basketball court, gardens, and murals on the school premises.

“India has one of the largest and most diverse education systems in the world, with a substantial youth population. The importance of contributing to the future of India’s youth is reflected in the country’s National Education Policy which aims to bring vital transformation in our education system. At TELUS International India, we understand the transformative power of education which can help create job opportunities for the underprivileged and ultimately contribute to nation building. During this TELUS Day of Giving, we reinforce our commitment to contribute back to our communities through our efforts to positively impact the lives and future of over 1,200 students at the Gandhi Smarak Vidyalaya,” said Rajiv M. Dhand, Regional Vice-President for TELUS International Asia-Pacific and Africa.“Our TELUS Days of Giving initiatives span over two decades of service to our communities, and have inspired more than 75,000 team members to mobilize and contribute their time, energy, resources and talents to help make the world a better place. I am both humbled and proud of our team members’ passion to make our company’s caring culture felt outside our workplaces,”Dhand added.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal of Gandhi Smarak Vidyalaya, Hemendra Kumar shared, “We are extremely delighted and happy to welcome the TELUS International India team in our school. On behalf of the teachers and students at Gandhi Smarak Vidyalaya, we thank the TELUS International India team for their contributions to transform our school and create a more conducive and better environment for learning. The work they have done today will have a lasting impact in the everyday lives of the learners in our school.”  

In addition to these renovations, TELUS International India conducted a career workshop and mentoring activity to assist students in preparing for university interviews.Since 2007, TELUS Days of Giving has positively impacted over 1.2 million people across the countries where TELUS International operates. The organization's team member volunteers continue to uphold the company's community-focused "Give Where We Live" philosophy, benefiting their local communities.
