Gurugram, October 11, 2023: Samsung India has revealed the top three winning teams of the Solve for Tomorrow 2023 competition, which focuses on youth education and innovation. The triumphant teams include NIT Surat, creators of the automated beach-cleaning robot "Sweep"; Stemly, developers of a conversational AI tool supporting women in STEM fields, and Think, creators of the personal cooling device "Kavach" for outdoor workers. These teams have been awarded a combined prize of INR 1.5 crore to further develop their ideas. Samsung's flagship CSR program, Solve for Tomorrow, aims to inspire India's youth to address real-world issues and positively impact people's lives with innovative ideas.
The three winning teams presented their projects at a Grand Finale event in New Delhi, where they were chosen by a Grand Jury consisting of industry experts. The event included pitches by the top 10 teams and an awards ceremony, attended by Samsung executives, jury members, and representatives from IIT Delhi and the MeitYStartup Hub.
This year's competition began in April, with 6,500 teams from 500 cities, towns, and villages submitting ideas across four themes: Education & Learning, Health & Wellness, Environment & Sustainability, and Diversity & Inclusion. The top 30 teams were selected, underwent an intense boot camp at IIT Delhi, and then pitched their projects to a Samsung jury to determine the top 10.The 10 teams, representing 25 young innovators, hailed from diverse cities across India. The winning projects address a range of issues, from water purification and crop disease detection to enhancing the lives of people with hearing impairments and promoting STEM education for women.

The Solve for Tomorrow competition was initially launched in the United States in 2010 and has since expanded to 63 countries, engaging over 2.3 million young participants globally.Samsung, in line with its global CSR vision of "Together for Tomorrow, Enabling People," believes in using innovation to create a positive impact in communities and improve people's lives through educational initiatives.
