New Delhi, July 02, 2026: NIIT Foundation and Bhual Singh Foundation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish what is being described as Uttar Pradesh's first AI Literate Village in Javansipur, Mariahu Block, Jaunpur district. The initiative aims to bring AI awareness, digital literacy, and job-linked training to underserved rural communities in alignment with India's Digital India and India AI Mission objectives.
Under the partnership, Bhual Singh Foundation will set up a dedicated Skill Development Centre in Jamalapur to serve as a community hub for AI awareness, digital literacy, employability skills, financial literacy, career counselling, and placement support. The centre will cater to youth, women, students, and community members across three tracks: 100 learners in career-oriented courses, 150 participants in foundation skilling programmes, and 150 beneficiaries in AI awareness, financial literacy, and future skills programmes — totalling 400 enrolments. Approximately 45 learners completing career-focused courses are expected to receive placement support.
Beyond technical training, the programme will emphasise responsible technology use, cyber safety, and digital confidence-building, with a focus on encouraging greater participation from women, youth, and marginalised groups.
The initiative is designed for long-term sustainability through a Train-the-Teacher model, enabling local educators to deliver programmes independently over time. Smart classroom infrastructure and digital learning resources will be progressively handed over to schools as community-owned assets. The partnership was facilitated by Rajanaya Consulting Pvt. Ltd., represented by Mr. Kevin Marks and Mr. Tauseef Alam.
Charu Kapoor, Country Director, NIIT Foundation, said, "Technology has the power to transform lives for all.
