New Delhi, October 07, 2025: Moneyboxx Finance Limited, a BSE-listed Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) focused on improving credit access for micro and small enterprises, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Water.org, a global nonprofit organisation committed to expanding access to safe water and sanitation.
The partnership aims to design and scale affordable financing solutions for micro and small enterprises engaged in the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) sector, enabling improved access to clean water and sanitation for low-income communities across India.
Under the MoU, Water.org will provide technical assistance to Moneyboxx Finance in product design, market assessment, staff training, and operational monitoring to support the rollout of WASH-focused lending products. This initiative will help expand Moneyboxx’s loan portfolio while mobilising capital towards water and sanitation-linked enterprises.
Commenting on the development, Mr. Deepak Aggarwal, Co-Founder and Co-CEO, Moneyboxx Finance Ltd, said, “Our partnership with Water.org represents a meaningful step toward transforming lives in underserved regions. Through microbusiness loans for water and sanitation, we aim to empower communities, improve health, and create lasting opportunities for growth. Together, we are not just financing businesses, we are transforming lives and building a foundation for sustainable growth in regions that need it the most.”
Water.org stated that access to safe water and sanitation is essential to health, dignity, and opportunity, and the partnership with Moneyboxx Finance will help scale financial solutions that directly benefit rural entrepreneurs and low-income families.
According to industry estimates, India’s WASH-MSME sector comprises over 200,000 enterprises with an annual debt demand of ₹20,000 crore, of which less than 16% is currently met by formal financing. By bridging this credit gap, the collaboration is expected to unlock significant opportunities for inclusive growth at the grassroots level.
Through this programme, Moneyboxx Finance is reinforcing its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), supporting equitable access to essential resources across semi-urban and rural India.
