Medhavi Skills University, SANDIKSHA Partner to Support Education and Skilling for SSB Families

New Delhi, July 23, 2026: Medhavi Skills University (MSU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sashastra Seema Bal Wives Welfare Association (SANDIKSHA) to provide skill-based higher education and career transition support for Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel and their families.

The MoU was signed by Shri Kuldip Sarma, Honourable Co-Founder and Pro-Chancellor, Medhavi Skills University, and Smt. Kavita Singhal, President, SANDIKSHA. Under the partnership, MSU will offer full tuition fee waivers for the children of SSB martyrs and personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty. It will also provide special fee concessions for the children of serving and retired SSB personnel across its work-integrated degree and diploma programmes.

The initiative will enable eligible students to pursue National Education Policy (NEP) 2020-aligned, industry-integrated higher education that combines academic learning with workplace training. The collaboration also includes structured skill-transition programmes for SSB personnel who have taken early retirement, with the aim of improving employability and supporting long-term career growth.

Shri Kuldip Sarma, Honourable Co-Founder and Pro-Chancellor, Medhavi Skills University, said, "Our forces protect the nation's borders, but it's often their families who quietly hold the fort at home. Standing beside a soldier's family is as important as standing beside the soldier. This MoU is our way of conveying gratitude to their selfless service that should not stop at retirement, besides our resolute commitment to support their families as well. It is only through such endeavours that we can inch closer to our larger mission of Building a Skills-First India."

Smt. Kavita Singhal, President, SANDIKSHA, stated, “Every family that stands behind a Braveheart makes a sacrifice of its own. This collaboration with Medhavi Skills University ensures that sacrifice is met with real, tangible support in the form of quality skills-based higher education for our children and dignified career pathways for those who have served."

According to MSU, the agreement is part of its broader effort to expand access to skills-integrated education across India's security forces. The university has previously signed similar MoUs with the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, Assam Rifles, CRPF, Sikkim Police and Nagaland Police to strengthen education and skilling opportunities for defence and security personnel and their families.
