Mumbai, Jan 26, 2024: Lumina Datamatics is collaborating with Saukhyam, a project initiated by Mata Amritanandamayi Math. Saukhyam works to combat climate change, support zero-waste communities, empower women, and transform lives - through its reusable menstrual pads. The partnership illustrates Lumina Datamatics’ steadfast commitment to empowering women in 2024.

A report released by Saukhyam indicates an average woman uses and discards 10,000-12,000 disposable sanitary napkins over their entire menstruating lifetime, equivalent to discarding 40,000-50,000 plastic bags. Moreover, a recent study tested 10 leading brands of sanitary napkins (6 non-biodegradable and 4 biodegradable) and found dangerous chemicals and toxins in all 10. Recognizing the severity of this issue, Team Saukhyam created eco-friendly and affordable sanitary pads and is now poised to expand its impact with the support of Lumina Datamatics.

“Our team is grateful for funding support received from Lumina Datamatics Ltd. that has helped us begin our work in tribal Maharastra (Nandurbar District) as well as Navi Mumbai,” said Anju Bist, Managing Director of Saukhyam, popularly known as the Padwoman of India.

Speaking about their commitment to women empowerment, Mr. Sameer L. Kanodia, Managing Director & CEO, Lumina Datamatics, said, “As part of Lumina Datamatics' broader commitment to women's empowerment, the company has implemented various initiatives to create a supportive and inclusive workplace. This includes training opportunities, and policies that promote work-life balance. Lumina Datamatics aims to set a benchmark for corporate responsibility and social impact in the tech industry by prioritizing diversity and inclusion.”
